Mexico Visa from Thailand
Thai passports need a visa for Mexico — either the free SAE e-authorization (30d tourism), or a consular visa at the Mexican Embassy in Bangkok. For Temporary/Permanent Resident, we prepare economic-solvency dossiers, Apostille Hague, and sworn Spanish translation with a Perito Traductor accepted by the consulate.
Quick Answer
Tourist: SAE free 30d OR MXN 600 consular. Temporary Resident: USD 4,300/mo income. Permanent: USD 285k savings. Our service THB 6,500–85,000.

Document legalization we handle
- Apostille Hague at MOFA Thailand — Mexico is a Hague party (in force since 1995), no consular legalization needed.
- Sworn Spanish translation by Perito Traductor listed at TSJ (Tribunal Superior de Justicia) of relevant Mexican state.
- Bank statements (6–12 months) + investment portfolio for economic-solvency proof — must show liquid balance, not credit lines.
- Marriage/birth/police-clearance packet for family and permanent residence pathways.
FAQ
- Do Thai passport holders need a visa for Mexico?
- Yes for tourism. Two options: (1) SAE electronic authorization (Sistema de Autorización Electrónica) — free, 30d single-entry tourism, apply at consulmex.sre.gob.mx. (2) Consular tourist visa at Embassy of Mexico Bangkok (Ocean Tower II, Asoke) — MXN 600 (~USD 36), 10-yr multi-entry for holders of valid US/Canada/UK/Schengen/Japan visa. Work/study/residence always via consulate.
- Temporary Resident visa (Residente Temporal)?
- Two paths: (a) Economic solvency — monthly income USD 4,300 for last 6 months OR savings USD 71,000 for last 12 months. (b) Real estate MXN 6,000,000 (~USD 350k) title in applicant's name. 1-yr initial, renewable up to 4 yr total, then Permanent Resident. Filed at Mexican Consulate Bangkok, canjeada at INM in Mexico within 30d of entry.
- Permanent Resident (Residente Permanente)?
- Direct routes: (1) Economic solvency — income USD 5,400/mo or savings USD 285,000. (2) Retired with pension USD 5,400/mo. (3) 4 consecutive years as Temporary. (4) Family unity — Mexican spouse/child/parent. (5) Refugee/asylum. Grants CURP (Mexican tax ID), unlimited work rights, path to naturalization after 5 yr.
- Work visa?
- Employer files at INM (Instituto Nacional de Migración) — Constancia de Empleador + NOM (Oferta de Empleo). Once approved, applicant gets NUT (Número Único de Trámite), applies at Mexican Consulate Bangkok, receives visa, enters, canjeada at INM for Tarjeta de Residente Temporal con permiso para trabajar. Salary must match Mexican equivalent, no Mexican-priority quota.
- Student visa & digital nomad?
- Student: acceptance from SEP-registered institution (UNAM, ITAM, Tec de Monterrey, IPADE). Economic proof USD 400/mo for tuition duration. Digital Nomad: no dedicated visa, but Temporary Resident via economic solvency (USD 4,300/mo income) is de-facto DN route — very popular in CDMX/Mérida/Playa del Carmen.
