Overseas Marriage/Divorce & Family Status Recording (Kor Ror 22)
A marriage or divorce validly completed abroad can be recorded in Thailand as a family status record (Kor Ror 22) at a district office under the Family Registration Act B.E. 2478. The foreign marriage certificate or divorce judgment must first be authenticated according to the issuing country's own chain, translated into Thai, and legalised by the Legalisation Division of the Department of Consular Affairs before a Thai registrar will record it.
