A contract is formed by matching offer and acceptance under Section 354 onwards of the Civil and Commercial Code. Some contracts need written evidence to be enforceable — loans above two thousand baht (Section 653) and leases of immovable property (Section 538). Terms that give one side an excessive advantage may be reduced by the court under the Unfair Contract Terms Act B.E. 2540 (1997). A power of attorney must state its scope clearly and be stamped under the Revenue Code stamp duty schedule.
