Does every BOI or DBD document need notarization?
No. The required certification depends on the filing, issuer and receiving office. Check the current checklist for foreign parent-company records and powers of attorney; verify who may sign and which authentication route is accepted before arranging certification.
Start with the filing checklist and evidence of the signatory's authority. Notarization verifies the act described in the certificate; it does not approve a BOI application, register a DBD change or validate every clause in an agreement.

Company authority and overseas signatures
Send the filing type, issuing country, current company extract, authorized-signatory evidence and the recipient's document list. A board resolution and a power of attorney serve different purposes; the company's signing conditions must be checked before the appointment.
For a person signing abroad, confirm the local witness and authentication requirements with BOI, DBD or the transaction recipient. We do not offer video witnessing as a substitute for an accepted notarial act. Translation, legalization, filing representation and fees are agreed as separate parts of the scope after review.
FAQ
- Do all BOI and DBD filings require notarization?
- No. Check the current requirements for the particular filing. Foreign parent-company records, signatory evidence and powers of attorney may need certification or authentication, but not every resolution or agreement needs the same treatment.
- How are documents signed abroad handled?
- Confirm the acceptable witness, local certification and Thai diplomatic authentication with the receiving office before signing. A Thai attorney cannot certify that an overseas signature was witnessed by them; video witnessing is not offered as a substitute.
- Does notarization prove a director can bind the company?
- A certificate is limited to the act stated in it. Company extracts, signing conditions, resolutions and any required company seal must be checked separately. Certification does not guarantee BOI approval or DBD registration.
- Is Apostille included in every corporate document service?
- No. The route depends on the document, country and recipient. Thailand's Convention entry into force is 28 February 2027. Translation, legalization and filing work are scoped after checking the current instructions.
- What do you need for a quote?

- Does Thailand have notaries public?
- Thailand uses Notarial Services Attorneys registered with the Lawyers Council of Thailand for notarial acts within their permitted scope. Acceptance abroad depends on the recipient. Ask which certifier, wording and any additional authentication it requires; notarial certification is not the same as an Apostille.
- What documents can a Notarial Services Attorney certify?
- Commonly certified items include signatures on powers of attorney, affidavits and statutory declarations, certified true copies of passports and corporate documents, company resolutions and share transfer forms, sponsorship and consent letters, and the identity of a signatory for foreign banks, universities and courts. The attorney certifies the signing act or copy fidelity — not the truth of the content.
- Do I have to sign in person?
- Yes. The attorney must see the signatory in person together with the original passport or Thai ID before certifying a signature, which is the core safeguard of the service. Remote or scanned signatures cannot be certified. Mobile appointments at your office, condominium lobby or a nearby café are available if you cannot come to ours.
- How much does notarial certification cost and how fast is it?
- Attorney notarial certification starts at the current official rate per document, with the final price depending on the number of documents, signatories and whether the appointment is mobile or out of hours. The certification itself is completed during the appointment; only the subsequent MFA and embassy steps add working days.
