Relocation support: insurance, moving and international schools

Families moving to or from Thailand usually get stuck on paperwork, not on finding a provider. We handle the part we actually do ourselves — translation, certification and building the document file. For insurance, moving and school admission we coordinate and refer providers; you choose and contract with them directly.

1. Health insurance tied to a visa

Some Thai visa categories, including certain retirement and long-stay schemes, set health-insurance conditions such as minimum cover and wording on the certificate. These rules change; check with Thai Immigration or the Thai embassy before buying a policy.

What we do: read the conditions for the visa you will file, list what the insurance certificate must state, refer licensed providers for you to contact, and translate the certificate if the authority asks for one.

2. Moving personal effects

A common problem is goods arriving at port with incomplete papers, which leads to storage charges. Thai Customs has rules for household effects imported on relocation; your mover files them on your behalf.

What we do: translate and certify supporting documents (employment letters, leases) and prepare a notarised power of attorney for the mover.

  • Power of attorney for the mover (signed and certified at our office)

3. International-school applications

Schools differ, but nearly all ask for past school reports, a birth certificate, vaccination records and a passport. Documents not in English usually need a certified translation.

What we do: certified translation of reports, birth certificates and vaccination records, notarised true copies, and a list of schools in your area for you to approach. We do not guarantee admission.

4. Moving from Thailand abroad

Thai families moving abroad need the same chain in reverse: translation into the destination language, legalisation at the Department of Consular Affairs, then the destination embassy in Thailand. The Apostille Convention enters into force for Thailand on 28 Feb 2027; until then legalisation applies.

Frequently asked questions

Do you sell health insurance?

No. We are not an insurance broker or agent. We read the visa conditions and refer licensed providers for you to contact directly.

Which insurance is accepted for a visa?

It depends on the visa category and the latest official notice. Check with Thai Immigration or the Thai embassy; we can list what the certificate must state.

Do you move goods?

No. We prepare, translate and certify documents. Shipping and customs clearance are handled by the moving company you choose.

Is import duty charged on personal effects?

That depends on Thai Customs rules and your status. Ask Customs or your mover; we do not advise on duty rates.

What do I need to bring a pet into Thailand?

The Department of Livestock Development sets import-permit and health-certificate rules. We can translate veterinary documents, but confirm conditions with the department.

Do international schools require certified translations?

Many do when documents are not in English. Ask the school's admissions office which format it wants, then send the documents to us.

Can you recommend schools?

We can list schools in your area for you to contact. We are not an admissions agent and take no commission from schools.

Do you guarantee admission?

No. Admission is the school's decision.

Must a vaccination record be translated?

If the school or authority asks, we provide a certified translation. Some accept only a certificate from a Thai doctor — ask the school first.

Where are documents legalised when moving abroad?

Before 28 Feb 2027, at the Department of Consular Affairs and the destination embassy. After that, Apostille member countries may accept an apostille instead — confirm with the destination authority.

Do you work outside Bangkok?

Yes. We have branches in Bangkok (Lat Phrao 95) and Khon Kaen, and accept documents by post or through agents nationwide.

What does it cost?

We quote after reviewing the documents, as the fee depends on pages, language and certification. The initial enquiry for a quote is free.
