Employment Visa — what triggers it?
Any paid engagement with an Indian entity — even short-term consulting > 180 days per year. Requires employment contract, minimum US$25,000/yr salary (waived for ethnic cooks, translators, embassy staff, journalists), FRRO registration within 14 days of arrival, and PAN card. Family joins on X-Visa (Dependant).
OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) card?
Lifetime multi-entry for people of Indian origin or spouses of Indian citizens (marriage ≥ 2 years). No visa needed forever, no FRRO, work-study rights. Filed at ociservices.gov.in — 30–90 day processing at Bangkok Consulate. We handle spouse/PIO evidence and marriage-certificate legalization.
