FAQ

Is Ireland part of Schengen?
No. Ireland is EU but NOT in Schengen — a Schengen visa does NOT let you into Ireland. Thai passport holders need a separate Irish Short-Stay 'C' visa or Long-Stay 'D' visa. Northern Ireland uses UK rules (separate UK visa).
Where to apply from Bangkok?
There is NO Irish Embassy in Thailand and NO VFS Ireland in Bangkok. Applications route through VFS Ireland at the New Delhi hub — you file online at AVATS (Automated Visa Application & Tracking System) then courier your passport + supporting docs to New Delhi. We handle the courier chain via DHL with tracking + insured passport transit.
How long?
Short-Stay C: 4–8 weeks from New Delhi receipt (was 2–3 wk pre-2024, delays continuing). Long-Stay D Study: 6–8 wk. Critical Skills Employment Permit: 12–16 wk (permit issued in Ireland first). Stamp 0 (elderly parent / retired self-sufficient): 3–4 months.
Fees?
Short-Stay C single €60, multi €100. Long-Stay D €60. Critical Skills Permit €1,000 (paid by employer). Our service THB 9,500 (Short-Stay tourist incl. Delhi courier) to THB 35,000 (Long-Stay D Study or Critical Skills with full dossier assembly).
Critical Skills Employment Permit — who qualifies?
Occupations on the Critical Skills Occupations List: software developers, cybersecurity, medical (nurse/doctor), scientific research, engineers — all at salary threshold ≥ €38,000 (list roles) or ≥ €64,000 (any non-ineligible role). Employer applies for permit at DBEI first (12 wk), then you file the D visa in New Delhi (8 wk). We coordinate both sides.
Stamp 4 residence & Irish citizenship path?
Critical Skills holders qualify for Stamp 4 after 2 years (unlocks any employer, spouse work rights). After 5 years of legal residence (Stamp 1/4 combined), you can apply for Irish naturalization — which grants EU citizenship, unlocking free movement across all 27 EU states. Ireland is the fastest EU citizenship path from Thailand.
