All Italian visa applications from Thailand are handled by VFS Global (Italian Visa Application Centre) at Trendy Building, Sukhumvit Soi 13 — appointment via visa.vfsglobal.com/tha/en/ita. The Embassy of Italy on Nang Linchi Road no longer accepts direct visa lodgement except for diplomatic and select long-stay categories.
Schengen C vs National D — which fits my trip?
Tourism/business ≤ 90 days → Schengen C (multiple-entry, biometrics valid 59 months). Study at Politecnico/Bocconi/Sapienza, elective residence, family reunification, self-employment, sports contract, religious → National D (residence permit required within 8 days of arrival at Questura).
