Do Thai passport holders need a visa for Kuwait?
Yes. Kuwait eVisa (evisa.moi.gov.kw) available for select nationalities but Thai passport currently requires embassy visa. Options: (1) Tourist Visa Article 14 — sponsored by hotel or resident, 30d single. (2) Business Visa Article 14 — sponsored by Kuwaiti company, 30–90d. (3) Family Visit Article 22 — spouse/parents of resident. Filed at Kuwait Embassy Bangkok (Sukhumvit).
Work visa (Article 18) & Iqama?
Employer files Work Permit at PAM (Public Authority of Manpower). Steps: (1) Employer obtains Work Permit approval + Block Visa (تأشيرة عمل). (2) Employee submits at Kuwait Embassy Bangkok with medical fitness, biometrics, degree attestation. (3) Enter Kuwait 90d window. (4) Medical Rd 2 + fingerprints + Civil ID (Iqama) issued in 60 days. Minimum salary KWD 450 for family sponsorship. Kafala system active — job change needs previous employer NOC (some reforms 2022).
Family & spouse visa (Article 22)?
Iqama holder earning ≥ KWD 500/mo (professional) with valid rental contract can sponsor spouse + children under 18 (sons) / unmarried daughters. Marriage cert + birth cert must be attested at MOFA Thailand + Kuwait Embassy Bangkok + MOFA Kuwait. 1-yr renewable Iqama linked to sponsor.
