FAQ

Do Thai passport holders need a visa for Malaysia?
No — ASEAN reciprocity: 30 days visa-free for tourism/business. Long-stay work, study, or dependant requires a pass issued by Immigration Department (JIM) or Expatriate Services Division (ESD) via employer sponsorship.
Employment Pass (EP) categories?
EP Category I: RM 10,000+/mo, 5-yr max, allows dependants (DP) + maid (FDW). Cat II: RM 5,000–9,999, 2-yr max. Cat III: RM 3,000–4,999, 12-mo max, no dependants. All filed via employer's ESD account after company registration for MDEC/SC/BNM (fast lane) or MyXpats (standard).
MM2H (Malaysia My Second Home) — current criteria?
As of 2024 refresh: Silver tier RM 500K fixed deposit + RM 30K monthly income (5-yr renewable), Gold RM 2M FD + RM 50K (15-yr), Platinum RM 5M FD + RM 50K (20-yr + PR pathway). Sarawak has separate S-MM2H (cheaper — RM 150K FD + RM 10K income). We file both routes.
Sarawak vs Peninsular Malaysia — different immigration?
Yes — Sarawak has autonomous immigration under Article 161B. Sarawak pass does NOT authorise work in Peninsular Malaysia and vice versa. We handle both jurisdictions including Kuching filings via correspondent counsel.
Timeline & fees?
EP: ESD 5 wd (MyXpats 15 wd) + Immigration endorsement. MM2H: 90–120 days. Our service THB 8,000 (Social visit), THB 25,000 (EP Cat II/III with ESD registration), THB 65,000 (MM2H Silver end-to-end incl. medical + insurance).
Iskandar / Johor SEZ tech pass?
Yes — Johor-Singapore SEZ (2025) offers streamlined EP for tech/finance firms + 15% flat tax for T&E-listed talent. Salary floor RM 30K/mo. We register company, get MITI approval, and file EP + SG cross-border DTP simultaneously.
