NAATI—the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters—issues and maintains the relevant translator credentials, including for credential holders based in Thailand. A Thai translation agency does not itself grant NAATI certification, and its business registration is not evidence that its translators hold that credential. Ask for the individual translator’s name and practitioner number, then verify their credential through NAATI’s official verification tools. Check the language direction as well: translating Thai documents into English requires the appropriate Thai-to-English credential. NAATI sets credential and recertification requirements and provides channels for credential-related concerns; it does not pre-approve every translation. For suspected credential misuse, consult NAATI’s reporting procedures. Billing or service disputes should also be raised with the provider.
