You often do not need to send original documents for NAATI translation; clear, complete scans or photographs may be sufficient, subject to the translator’s and recipient’s requirements. Include every page, the reverse side where relevant, seals, signatures and marginal notes. Use colour images with sharp text and avoid glare, cropped edges or filters that obscure details. The translator may request a better copy or inspect the original if something is unclear. Translation certification does not automatically make the attached source copy a certified true copy. Check the Department of Home Affairs or other receiving authority’s current instructions for that separate requirement. Before posting irreplaceable originals, confirm why they are needed and agree on secure return arrangements.
