§ Notarial Services Attorney

Licensed Notary Public Attorneys 6 registered

Our team comprises six Notarial Services Attorneys. Before arranging a signing, verify the assigned attorney's name and registration status with the Lawyers Council of Thailand, and check the recipient's requirements for the certifier and certification format. Notarial certification does not guarantee acceptance by an embassy or foreign authority, or visa approval.

Notary documents for embassies: follow the required certification order

Embassies do not all follow the same rules. Some require MFA authentication of the attorney's signature first; others ask the applicant to sign before a consular officer without using a notary at all. Finding out which route applies can save both time and expense.

A common sequence

Notarial Services Attorney → Department of Consular Affairs authentication of the attorney's signature → destination-embassy legalisation, if required. Thailand deposited its instrument of accession to the Apostille Convention on 30 June 2026. The Convention is scheduled to enter into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027. Until then, follow the route required for the document and by its recipient, which may include Department of Consular Affairs and destination-embassy legalisation.
02

When an attorney is not needed

Some embassies allow their own nationals to sign directly before a consular officer. If that is the applicable route, we will explain it honestly, even where our service is not needed.
03

Check the embassy's website every time

Embassy requirements, fees and appointment systems change frequently. We check before starting work and ask you to check again before attending your appointment.

Indicative fees

Ask our team for a quotation. Service charges are confirmed in writing after document review. Government and embassy fees are payable at the relevant authority's current rates.

Department of Consular Affairs legalisation: regular THB 200 / express THB 400 per legalisation sticker. THB 400 is the total express charge, not an extra 400, and express is available only for eligible Thai-government documents and the English translations listed in Announcement 23/2565.

Requirements set by receiving authorities, embassies and the Department of Consular Affairs may change. Check with the relevant official authority or document recipient before every submission. We do not guarantee any authority's decision.

Frequently asked questions

Does every embassy require MFA legalisation first?+

No. It depends on the embassy and document type.

Can you handle embassy submission for me?+

We can submit documents where the embassy allows a representative. Some stages require the applicant to attend personally.

Where can I find embassy contact details?+

Use the embassy's official website. We do not publish embassy telephone numbers because they may change.

Do documents need translation before embassy submission?+

Most embassies require their country's language or English. Confirm the required language with the embassy.

Frequently asked questions

Does Thailand have notaries public?
Thailand uses Notarial Services Attorneys registered with the Lawyers Council of Thailand for notarial acts within their permitted scope. Acceptance abroad depends on the recipient. Ask which certifier, wording and any additional authentication it requires; notarial certification is not the same as an Apostille.
What documents can a Notarial Services Attorney certify?
Commonly certified items include signatures on powers of attorney, affidavits and statutory declarations, certified true copies of passports and corporate documents, company resolutions and share transfer forms, sponsorship and consent letters, and the identity of a signatory for foreign banks, universities and courts. The attorney certifies the signing act or copy fidelity — not the truth of the content.
Do I have to sign in person?
Yes. The attorney must see the signatory in person together with the original passport or Thai ID before certifying a signature, which is the core safeguard of the service. Remote or scanned signatures cannot be certified. Mobile appointments at your office, condominium lobby or a nearby café are available if you cannot come to ours.
How much does notarial certification cost and how fast is it?
Attorney notarial certification is quoted after document review, with the final price depending on the number of documents, signatories and whether the appointment is mobile or out of hours. The certification itself is completed during the appointment; only the subsequent MFA and embassy steps add working days.
