Notary service charges: understand your quotation before you pay

We do not publish fixed service prices because two jobs with the same name can involve very different work. A one-page power of attorney for Australia is not the same as a company document package requiring Chinese embassy legalisation. This guide explains the components so you can compare quotations meaningfully.

01

Three parts of a quotation

1) The Notarial Services Attorney's charge, which depends on the number of signatures or copies requiring certification. 2) Official fees charged by the Department of Consular Affairs and embassies at their own rates, without a markup from us. 3) Handling and delivery charges where we submit documents on your behalf or arrange international delivery.
02

What changes the scope and cost?

The factors that matter include:
  • How far the receiving authority requires the legalisation process to go.
  • Whether translation is needed and how many pages are involved.
  • Whether the attorney needs to travel to meet the signer.
  • The number of signers and document sets.
03

Be cautious with unusually low quotations

A low quotation that leaves out a required certification stage may mean paying again if your documents are returned. Ask the provider to state clearly which stages are included.
04

Official fees

Department of Consular Affairs legalisation: regular THB 200 / express THB 400 per legalisation sticker. THB 400 is the total express charge, not an extra 400, and express is available only for eligible Thai-government documents and the English translations listed in Announcement 23/2565. Embassy fees follow each embassy's own announcement. Requirements set by receiving authorities, embassies and the Department of Consular Affairs may change. Check with the relevant official authority or document recipient before every submission. We do not guarantee any authority's decision.

Indicative fees

Ask our team for a quotation. Service charges are confirmed in writing after document review. Government and embassy fees are payable at the relevant authority's current rates.

The written quotation separates service charges from official fees.

Frequently asked questions

Does Thailand have notaries public?
Thailand uses Notarial Services Attorneys registered with the Lawyers Council of Thailand for notarial acts within their permitted scope. Acceptance abroad depends on the recipient. Ask which certifier, wording and any additional authentication it requires; notarial certification is not the same as an Apostille.
What documents can a Notarial Services Attorney certify?
Commonly certified items include signatures on powers of attorney, affidavits and statutory declarations, certified true copies of passports and corporate documents, company resolutions and share transfer forms, sponsorship and consent letters, and the identity of a signatory for foreign banks, universities and courts. The attorney certifies the signing act or copy fidelity — not the truth of the content.
Do I have to sign in person?
Yes. The attorney must see the signatory in person together with the original passport or Thai ID before certifying a signature, which is the core safeguard of the service. Remote or scanned signatures cannot be certified. Mobile appointments at your office, condominium lobby or a nearby café are available if you cannot come to ours.
How much does notarial certification cost and how fast is it?
Attorney notarial certification is quoted after document review, with the final price depending on the number of documents, signatories and whether the appointment is mobile or out of hours. The certification itself is completed during the appointment; only the subsequent MFA and embassy steps add working days.
