Q1035. What happens if my passport expired while applying for a Thai police clearance certificate?

An expired passport can require updated identity evidence for your Thai police-clearance application, so notify the Police Clearance Service Center before submitting or changing documents. If your application is already pending, give the Royal Thai Police your application reference and ask whether they can continue processing or need your renewed passport details. Keep copies of the expired passport, particularly its identification page and Thai entry or stay records, because these may help establish your residence history. When renewing, retain evidence linking the old and new passport numbers. Do not alter an issued certificate yourself. If it shows the old number, ask the receiving immigration authority whether linked passport copies are acceptable or a replacement certificate is necessary.
