Q1071. Can an official cover letter from a foreign embassy in Bangkok accelerate the Thai police check process?

Answered by NYC Visa & Translation
An embassy cover letter may explain your purpose or urgency, but it does not automatically accelerate a Thai police clearance. The Royal Thai Police Police Clearance Service Center decides how applications are handled and whether any urgent procedure is available. If the embassy provides a letter, ensure it identifies you accurately, states why the certificate is needed, and gives any genuine submission deadline. Present it with a complete application rather than relying on the letter to compensate for missing fingerprints or supporting documents. Ask the Center whether the letter changes the submission procedure. Meanwhile, contact the receiving visa authority about deadline flexibility; neither an embassy letter nor agency involvement guarantees earlier issuance.
