Q1147. Can foreign nationals whose visas have expired (Overstay) still successfully apply for a Thai police clearance certificate?

Answered by NYC Visa & Translation
An expired Thai visa does not allow a reliable prediction of whether a police clearance application will be accepted, and overstay should be addressed separately. Ask the Royal Thai Police Police Clearance Service Center what documents and application route apply to someone with your current immigration status. Consult the Thai Immigration Bureau or a qualified Thai immigration lawyer about resolving the overstay, particularly before attending government offices in person. Applying through an agency does not regularize your stay or remove possible immigration consequences. If you are already abroad, ask about the overseas application procedure and how to document your previous Thai residence accurately; do not conceal expired visas or alter travel records.
