Q1158. What procedural complications arise if a passport is lost or renewed while a police clearance application is pending?

Answered by NYC Visa & Translation
A lost or renewed passport can create an identity-document mismatch during a pending police clearance application and may require updated documents or further verification. Notify the Royal Thai Police unit handling the application promptly, quoting your application reference and explaining the change. For renewal, retain a copy of the old passport’s identity page and provide the new passport details; for loss, ask whether a loss report or replacement-passport evidence is needed. Confirm whether processing can continue and which passport number will appear on the certificate. Update any agency authorization where necessary. Do not assume fingerprints must be repeated or the application restarted; obtain case-specific instructions before submitting duplicates or paying for another translation.
