Q1223. Will a dismissed case appear on the Thai police clearance certificate?

Answered by NYC Visa & Translation
A dismissed Thai case may still be reflected in police records, so dismissal alone does not guarantee that a police clearance will contain no reference to it. The outcome depends on the case’s final status, the wording of the dismissal, and whether the relevant records have been updated. Obtain the court’s final disposition or the prosecutor’s official decision, as applicable, together with identifying case details. Ask the Royal Thai Police whether those documents are needed to verify the result before issuing the certificate. If an entry appears inaccurate, request the applicable correction procedure rather than trying to omit the case from your paperwork. Foreign immigration forms may separately ask about arrests or charges, even where proceedings ended without a conviction.
