Visa — SMART Visa / Thailand Privilege

What does a SMART Visa give that a Non-B does not?
SMART Visa categories S, T, I, E and O are granted after an endorsement from a qualifying agency such as NSTDA, depa or NIA. Holders are exempt from the separate work permit requirement for the endorsed activity, report annually rather than every 90 days, and receive multi-year permission to stay with re-entry rights. Changing employer or scope requires a fresh endorsement before the new work begins. Confirm current requirements with the embassy or official portal before filing.

- Q1312. Does a Thailand Privilege membership allow me to work?
No. The Privilege Entry Visa grants long-stay permission of up to one year per entry for the duration of the membership, plus concierge and airport services, but it confers no right to work. A member who wishes to work in Thailand must obtain a work permit through the ordinary route, which in practice means holding a suitable visa category alongside the membership.
