Government charges are paid directly to the authority and belong on a separate line from professional fees, so you can verify exactly what went where. Ask for the quotation in that split form before the repair begins.

Work from the receiving authority's own written requirement rather than second-hand advice, check that names, dates and addresses are identical across every document in the bundle, allow time for the stages controlled by an external queue, and keep a complete copy with the reference numbers so later questions can be answered without rebuilding the file.
