NAATI Translation — Thai Salary / Employment Certificate for Australia
A salary certificate is an employer statement as of its issue date, not proof that every payment reached a bank account. NAATI translation for Australia retains the amount, currency, pay frequency and bonus conditions stated. Send the letter and recipient request, confirm scope and quotation, check the translation and receive the agreed format. Verify translator details before submission. Timing is assessed from the documents; translation does not determine borrowing capacity or a visa outcome.

What should you prepare for this document?
- Include date, signatory and all income conditions.
- Separate fixed wages, conditional bonuses and non-cash benefits.
- If AUD figures are requested, confirm who prepares the conversion and which rate/date applies separately from translation.
What may lead to a request for replacement documents?
- Omitting pay frequency or mistranslating currency.
- Presenting conditional bonuses as fixed income.
- Adding AUD amounts not supported by employer records.
These are preparation checks, not universal rejection rules. The recipient determines the evidence required.
What should not be guessed or changed?
Do not add annualised figures or treat a conditional bonus as guaranteed regular income.

Frequently asked questions
Is the salary automatically converted to AUD?
The translation should retain the source amount and currency. A recipient requesting AUD needs a separately confirmed method, rate, date and preparer. Do not replace a baht figure with an unexplained AUD amount. A translated employer letter does not itself prove payment or establish eligibility for a bank product or visa.
How are bonuses and benefits translated?
Preserve the employer’s stated conditions and benefit types. A performance-dependent bonus or non-cash benefit should not automatically be combined with fixed salary. If an abbreviation is unclear, request clarification from the issuer rather than guess. Translation does not turn conditional remuneration into guaranteed regular income.
Can a salary certificate replace a bank statement?
The documents serve different purposes. An employer letter states employment and remuneration; a bank statement records transactions over its stated period. Check whether the recipient requests both. Translating an employer letter does not certify that every wage payment was actually received in the account.
Is an older salary certificate still acceptable?
Ask the recipient about the required evidence period and how current the letter must be. There is no single validity period for every request. If a new letter is required, obtain it from the employer. Translation cannot change the issue date or make historical income information current.
Should income figures be changed to match payslips?
No. Preserve the figures stated in each source. A discrepancy may concern a different period, a bonus or a salary change; ask the employer for clarification where needed by the recipient. Translation must not conceal differences or adjust evidence simply to make the documents appear consistent.
What should I send for a salary-letter quotation?
Send complete letter pages, the recipient’s request and existing English name spellings. Flag pay frequency and abbreviations needing clarification. A free initial enquiry establishes scope, quotation, timing and delivery format before work starts. Avoid sending unrelated financial records unnecessarily; translation is not a credit or visa assessment.
