Answered by the NYC Visa & Translation team

Yes — Thailand issues the Non-Immigrant MT (Medical Treatment) visa for patients treated at accredited Thai hospitals. Core documents: (1) a letter from the Thai hospital stating the treatment plan and approximate duration (2) financial evidence covering treatment and living costs (3) medical documents from your home country (treatment history, physician certificates — usually requiring certified translation). Accompanying persons can apply for accompanying visas under the conditions. Watch out: the hospital must meet the required qualifications, extensions are tied to medical necessity certified by the hospital, and health insurance may be requested under current policy. Our team coordinates the hospital letter, translates medical documents, and prepares visas for both patient and companions. This is general guidance; requirements and fees change — always verify with the embassy, Thai Immigration, the Department of Consular Affairs, or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before proceeding.
