Q1396. What is the TM30 and what happens if it is not filed?

The TM30 is the notification of a foreigner's place of residence to Thai Immigration. The duty to file belongs to the property owner or possessor (landlord, hotel) hosting a foreigner, and it must be filed within the set period after the foreigner moves in — online or at an Immigration office. Watch out: (1) although the duty is the host's, the consequences fall on the foreigner — missing TM30 filings can cause problems at visa extensions, 90-day reporting, or other Immigration transactions (2) moving address or returning from abroad requires a new filing (3) always keep filing evidence (receipt/online slip).
