Q1412. How should financial evidence for a student visa be prepared to pass?

Answered by the NYC Visa & Translation team

Financial evidence generally accepted by embassies for student visas: (1) bank books/statements showing the full required balance — critically, funds must be held continuously for the number of days each country requires (2) bank deposit certificates (3) sponsor evidence — income/tax letters from parents or guardians with relationship documents (4) scholarship award letters (5) approved education loan documents. Watch out: large sums deposited shortly before applying are often questioned — the source must be explainable; jointly held accounts need proof of access; and each country calculates the amount differently (tuition plus monthly living costs times months). Our team calculates the required amount against the latest thresholds, plans the deposit timeline, and assembles the evidence to embassy format. This is general guidance; requirements and fees change — always verify with the destination country's embassy or immigration authority and the educational institution before proceeding.
