Diploma / Degree Certificate Certification in Thailand
Recipients differ: some accept a certified copy, others need the university to verify the degree directly. Check the recipient’s list first to avoid repeat work.

Certification scope and key checks
A notarial certified copy confirms that the copy matches the certificate presented. It does not confirm that the university issued the degree or that the programme meets a standard. Where verification is required, contact the university or the evaluation body the recipient names.
Employers, credential evaluators and visa offices may ask for different evidence. Confirm whether they need a certified copy, certified translation, or onward MFA and embassy legalisation.
Documents to prepare
- Original degree certificate and transcript if requested
- Recipient or evaluator checklist
- Name spelling matching your passport for translation
Procedure for this document
- Confirm which evidence the recipient needs
- Certify the copy or translation from the original
- Arrange onward legalisation only if requested
Overseas use: confirm the recipient’s route
Notarization is not required for every public record, and some uses need no onward legalisation. Confirm whether the recipient needs an original, copy, translation or specific certification before arranging MFA and embassy steps where applicable.
Thailand deposited its accession on 30 June 2026. The Apostille Convention is scheduled to enter into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027. Do not assume Thai Apostilles are available before then. Even after entry into force, document scope and treaty relations with the destination must be checked.
Questions before booking
- Can a notary confirm my degree is genuine?
- No. A notary certifies that the copy matches the original seen. Issuance is confirmed by the university or the body the recipient specifies.
- Is embassy legalisation always needed?
- Not always. Some recipients accept certified copies or direct university verification. Check their checklist first.
- Are MFA and embassy legalisation always needed?
- No. Ask the recipient to confirm the certification, language and onward steps. Notarization, translation and legalisation are distinct; do not perform every step automatically.
- How are fees and timing assessed?
- After reviewing the form, copies, signers, language and onward steps, we provide a quote and indicative schedule before work. Authority queues and outcomes are not guaranteed.
- What should I send before booking?
- Send the record type, destination country, receiving authority and its checklist through a direct contact channel. Redact personal information unnecessary for the initial enquiry.
