House Registration (Thor Ror 14) Certification in Thailand
House registration evidences address and listed residents. Some recipients want a fresh registry extract, others accept a copy of the book. No universal 30-day rule applies.

Certification scope and key checks
The house registration lists people registered at an address under civil registration. It does not prove ownership; ownership needs a title deed or other evidence, and translations should not imply ownership.
Some recipients accept a certified copy of the household book; others require a recent registry extract. Recency is the recipient’s condition, not a single rule for every country.
Translations must keep the house code, names and household status as written. Translate only the pages needed, usually those showing the applicant, to avoid disclosing other family members unnecessarily.
Documents to prepare
- Original household book or registry extract
- Recipient checklist on pages, recency and certification
- ID card or passport of the listed person for spelling
Procedure for this document
- Check whether a book copy or a fresh extract is required
- Select the needed pages and translate faithfully
- Certify the copy/translation and legalise only if required
Overseas use: confirm the recipient’s route
Notarization is not required for every public record, and some uses need no onward legalisation. Confirm whether the recipient needs an original, copy, translation or specific certification before arranging MFA and embassy steps where applicable.
Thailand deposited its accession on 30 June 2026. The Apostille Convention is scheduled to enter into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027. Do not assume Thai Apostilles are available before then. Even after entry into force, document scope and treaty relations with the destination must be checked.
Questions before booking
- Must the house registration be issued within 30 days?
- Not universally. Some recipients set recency rules; check their checklist before obtaining an extract.
- Does a house registration prove ownership?
- No. It lists registered residents. Ownership requires title documents.
- Are MFA and embassy legalisation always needed?
- No. Ask the recipient to confirm the certification, language and onward steps. Notarization, translation and legalisation are distinct; do not perform every step automatically.
- How are fees and timing assessed?
- After reviewing the form, copies, signers, language and onward steps, we provide a quote and indicative schedule before work. Authority queues and outcomes are not guaranteed.
- What should I send before booking?
- Send the record type, destination country, receiving authority and its checklist through a direct contact channel. Redact personal information unnecessary for the initial enquiry.
